How can this be??

I have just changed spark plugs and sparkplug wires and my low to mid range power is so much better (probably regained). But how can it make such a difference??

I just replace the stock wires (NGK) with accel solid cord 8mm and new NGK plugs and my mid range is SO much better. I even have some decent acceleration in 5th now !!! :D

BTW, I have 65k miles on the car with a new rebuild 12k miles ago

Yep, I keep telling people, tune up your cars you be so much more happier. If you can notice a change you maybe got 10HP+ back.

2nd rule of rotary: Make sure the car is running like it did when it left the factory before you start changing it.

I've been doing tuneup stuff to my tII since I got it a month ago. The car was neglected for over 2 years and everything I do gives me at least 5hp gain. The fuel filter was shot, the plugs were shot, the intake was gummed up, Still have to get wires, I found numorous cracks in the intake pieces. Heres the latest and greatest which I just yanked out of my car about an hour ago. Does anyone know where I can get the factory intake tubing? you know, the intake duct which runs from the AirFlow Meter to the turbo?? Its 2 pieces + a coupler + 3 hose clamps. Heres a pic of the piece which ataches directly to the turbo!! Amazing, my car's idle sux, hope its better after I replace this peice!!!

yes if that piece is cracked it won't run at all. I bet a new one is $$$ from mazda. you might be able to find a used one. but most people make new ones outa PVC. which will also make a nice boost in power and spool up time. there are a few pages will building info. some one will post I'm sure.

It was around 6 bux for the rubber. I bought a PCV Rubber elbow, think it was a 2" diameter. I know thats small but the stock one is around 2 inches. Maybe theres some kind of performance bolt on which people can use???

OH YA and for all my idle problems???? GONE! Finnally gone. After finding 3 cracked inlet tubes, GONE. Thank god, I was starting to think that the motor might have had low compression or a bad seal somewhere.
