hours to remove/replace injectors
i think I need my '89 NA vert injectors removed to have them cleaned and replaced ..... having warm start problems that i think was related to some crap in my tank and its flooding a little after shut down now
what would be a reasonable # hours for one of those "madza trained technicians" to do the work .????? .... I was told two of them come out easy , the other two are much tougher ... i'd have to find somewhere to get them cleaned |
A Mazda trained tech (assuming you have all your emissions stuff still on there) should be able to get them off in less than 15 minutes. I have no idea how long it takes to clean injectors though...

taking them out shouldn't take very long especially for a trained mechanic and especially on an N/A. Cleaning is a diff story tho.

It should be a fast job for someone who has done it before.
It's just a handful of vacuum hoses, a couple coolant hoses and fuel lines and less than 10 nuts or bolts to remove. If your manifolds haven't been off before though, replacing the gaskets between them might be a good idea. That's more time to remove the old ones. |
if i can't find a good place to get them cleaned ( ie i've been told a diesel shop) where / what should i get for replacements ?
the quote for OEM replacements was ridiculous |
there are a few places online that will clean/flow test injecotrs and replace the pintle caps and o-rings for like $12/injector. I'd go that route if you have the time.
otherwise, grab the yellow pages and start making some calls for a local place. |
