HKS BOV wont blow off

i bought an HKS SSQV bov from my friend and it wont blowoff at all. i tried loosening the adustment botl all the way, tried tightening it all the way, tried switching the vac source to the middle nipple on the UIM... nothing.

could i be doing something wrong?

no i had the same BOV it sat for like 4 days on my car and did the same shit you gotta take it apart put some WD-40 or some ATF what i used to lossen it up youll need to rig up a high pressure line to the vacuum to get it to move so you can get some atf within the walls

yes, you should always clean off a used blow off valve before using it.

i can push in the plunger with my fingers and it moves fine...

what i did with my SSQV, I completely took it apart and cleaned everything. THat way I could see if anything was malfunctioning. The main part that opens the BOV is the housing that the vacuum nipple goes into. It has a little rubber diaphram that is pulled when there's vacuum causing a pressure difference. When it's pulled, it pulls the whole shaft that is attached to the end that holds boost, which opens it. Maybe you're having a problem with the vacuum chamber.

A local friend bought the same bov, and his Talon couldn't make it work either, he had to disconnect one of the vacuum lines to get it to work, i've read this alot actually.

your turbo is not big enough.

Or the vacuum chamber is not functioning. Just hook it up to a mityvac or similar and see if it even holds vacuum, and at so many PSI you should be able to get the thing to open on it's own.
