hks aic or megasquirt

is the aic worth it or should i wait a little longer and get a megasquirt?

who has used an aic in a turbo rotary?

What is your set up?

razorback 07-12-04 01:29 AM

will have a small street port stock injectors and ecu, fcd, will have a 2.5 downpipe and exhaust..maybe;) will not boost until i get the motor broken then may raise it up to the max the stock turbo can go, then upgrade to a big one. the aic will come with 2 stock supra injectors. i think that is all.

I don't know what you would pay for the greddy AIC, but haltech f5's are really getting cheap. I predict within the next couple of posts jason will come in here and start bashing how horrible crude AIC's are. I admit it, the f5 is a crude device, but hey - it works.

If you really plan on going with a big turbo relatively soon I wouldn't spend any of your money on a megasquirt or AIC, and just save for your choice of standlone: wolf, haltech, microtech etc.

There are quite a few people usings AIC's on turbo rotaries now, and even more people used them in the past when there weren't many management options available for the FC. If you are dead set on pushing the stock turbo to the limits for a while, I really would reccomend the e-manage with injector and ignition harness. That should be about 440 dollars from www.mohdparts.com The e-manage can also be used as a AIC, and is tuneable on a 16 x 16 matrix.

i can get it for 215 dollars.

Honestly I don't see the point of an AIC on a stock turbo. I put down 232 rwhp with stock injectors and a walbro at 11 pounds. My air/fuel numbers were in the mid 11's.

i also have a walbro. forgot that.

I wouldn't pay money for any AIC. Even something as relatively simple as a MegaSquirt is quite a bit more sophisticated than the ancient technique of simply switching on some extra injectors at high load.

Bigger secondaries will cost you about 90-95 bucks each from Marren. I don't see the point of an AIC without an upgraded turbo.
