sounds bad, like you might have to replace some subframe and stuff, i dont know. look from the rear suspension where it hit to the steering column where it connects to the rack, thats my best guess good luck. the fc suspension is fairly stright forward, if somethings bent or tweaked should be easy to see and replace.

Bent lateral link.

bmwrx7man 08-09-08 11:21 PM

i only hit the back wheel guys nothing else

Turbo II Rotor 08-09-08 11:36 PM

Did you check the lateral link?

skruyd 08-09-08 11:44 PM

Just take it where you can get an alignment. Unless you know how to check it yourself at your place. Enough of your suspension geometry can be knocked out to where it can still drive straight, and have the steering wheel off a bit.

Turbo II Rotor 08-09-08 11:49 PM

If the steering wheel if off then the car is not driving straight.

bmwrx7man 08-10-08 02:49 AM

well im going strait is wat im saying like it stays there and car goes strait down the road....only thing i hit was my back wheel like i said

Black Knight RX7 FC3S 08-10-08 07:46 AM

are you sure you just only hit the back.

Sometimes if you hit the rear hard enough, the car can track along the road sideways, where the front and rear wheels doesnt line up straight with each other. That can also make your steering crooked.

Drive on the road and let somebody follow you from about 3-4 cars lenght behind and look at the tires and see if they follow exactly behind the other.

Get an alignment. Tell the technicians what happened so they can look for damage.

If you don't listen to the above advice, then you just wasted your time making this forum thread. If you can't afford the alignment, then you can't afford the worn tires and possible additional damage to the car that will result from driving it.

bmwrx7man 08-10-08 02:15 PM

ok ima do that ^^^ but wat parts would cause that? thats all i want to know and no it was only the back for thr 4th time...

Turbo II Rotor 08-10-08 03:02 PM

Check the damn lateral link.

Take off your steering wheel, rotate it 50 degrees the other way so it's straight, then refasten. Ignorance is bliss!

I like the beeps - they give the voices in my head a rhythm to do some old-skool whiteboy rap.
