Hey guys, i need your help...

i'm looking for another daily driver since my '88 accord messed up on me. i've been looking for something fun, so 2nd Gen Rex's came to mind. only problem is i dont know anything about them. as far as n/a models should i fear the apex seals? i hear so much about them going out. do these cars generally last well over 200K miles. i'm asking that because most cars i've been looking at already have over 100K. what common problems should i look out for? which year is the best one? tomorrow i'm going to take a trip down to Alamo Rotary here in town and see what they have. any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks again guys.

you dont really have to worry about the apex seals on an N/A, the one im driving now has 173k miles on it and still running strong, you just need to keep them maintained, change the oil every 2500-3000 miles, its injected into the engine and used about 1 quart every 1500-2000 miles. the biggest thing to worry abot on them is to make sure the oil metering pump is in good condition, because if the oil metering pump is bad, bye bye engine, they have said on here that the 86-88 oil metering pumps last between 180-220k, and the 89-91 160-200k, thats what they have said on here before, the 86-88 have a mechanicl oil metering pump that is controlled by the throttle body butteryfly, and the 89-91's have an electrical one.

how would i know if the oil metering pump is in good working order? if it's bad would it be ticking, or making any kind of noise? i'm glad to hear these cars last that long. i had no clue on their reliability. thanks for you help.

they wont make noise or anything, but if it has over 180k miles it would be a good idea to get one with less mileage, or a new one, they are kinda pricey, but the engine is more if it doesnt work :)
