HELP!!! You may have the answer!

It's hard to get a decent answer amongst all the "noise" in here. The second gen guys still know their shtuff the best, though. So you should be able to answer me this:

I want to use AN SS braided line for my radiator hose. I have 3 options and I need help and opinions.

1. Use an adaptor that has NPT on one side and AN -12 on the other side. I would need to use about 2" of radiator hose. I think that this would be easy but unsightly. And -12 is too small for a radiator hose, IMO.

2. Use an AL bung welded to the radiator. Here I have the same problem as option 1, that is that I am using a very small hose for a radiator hose. -12 isn't big enough, IMO, and that's all that is readily available.

3. Find an AL bung that is a larger size! But who makes one? HELP!

can you go to a hydraulics place or something? my dad and i had to fix a big industrail back-hoe that we borrowed once, we went to a place that made/sold hydraulics stuff. they might be able to make you something custom or at least point you to someone that can help you out. just a thought......

Earls Perform o flex hose is available as large as -24 (over 1 inch in inside diameter!). It is perfect for radiator hoses. But be prepared to pay.. the best price I have found on the net for it is around $20.00 a foot! But that is the cheap part. The fittings for -24 hose ranges from $60.00 and up each. Then you have to get your radiator modified and the in/out ports on the motor modified to accept AN or NPT threads.

You might spend $200 to replace your radiator hoses but be assured it will be the last set of radiator hoses you will ever have to buy.

Good Luck
