i have a 87 turbo II with a rebuilt 91 motor ,im running all s5 manifolds and s4 throttle body, block off plates and omp blocked off. o.o im in my break in period and have put 580 miles on it with no problems . then last night i kept poping egi fuse .turns out acv plug melted to down pipe. so i fixed that but now for some reason the car will start fine but will run like shit and dies if i dont give it gas, im also reading 0 vacume on boost gauge . any ideas?

getting the 0 reading on the factory gauge or an aftermarket unit?

thatguy23 02-02-11 05:11 PM

aftermarket boost gague. hooked up in cousins 7 it worked fine

would a bad ecu cause this?

HAILERS2 02-02-11 05:35 PM

A large air leak would.

A broken apex seal would.

A lead coil assy not working would.

Install your cousins ECU since you suspect that.

A cracked trubo inlet duct at the turbo would ........but that's covered in my first suggestion.

Could the wiring be damaged causing the ignition system or ecu to not get enough voltage now? I know the fuse is supposed to protect that, but the wire leading out of the fuse box is what shouldn't exceed 30 amps, not all the smaller gauge wire after that. Perhaps you should check voltage at the coils, injectors, and ecu with the key on, see if it's dropped from the battery's voltage.
