HELP: Power Window Wire Harnesses

i have an 86 base model, and i recently got new doors because i wanted power windows. It was my understanding that all i would need is the actual door itself, and the complete wiring harness that leads into the car...up to, and including the plastic connector.

My original harness only has one plug on it, but the new harness that i got from the junkyard has two plugs (one male, and one female). I figured that it was no big deal, and that if i just dug around in my kick panel id find where the other connector plugged in.....but i didnt. so i just plugged in the one connector that would fit, and i did that on the driver and passenger sides. They didnt work...i checked the fuse, but there wasnt one. When i tried to replace the fuse, i realized that there werent even metal connectors in the spot for the power window fuse.

What do i do? is there an easy fix for this? maybe the wire harnesses change between the s4 and s5?

sorry about the long post, but this really confuses me

My 87 has the two connectors on the pass side. Uhm. What I suggest doing is just wiring it yourself. Shouldnt be hard.

my original plan was to just wire it myself....but then i figured switching the harnesses would just be worlds easier. i have the fb01 cpu of course....could that be it?

CPU will have nothing to do with it, the only difference between a FB01 (base, sports, SE, GTU etc) and a FB05 (GXL, some verts, T2) is the door key and ignition key lights and controller circuits for them.

According to your profile you have a GXL so of course you have two plugs... you have power windows.

how do you guys suggest wiring this on my own? i know about electronics and wiring...in the car audio sense...but i dont know much about how the polarities on the window switches work ?????

If you know automotive electronics power windows without controllers (like the FC) wire just like a Type C (sometimes called a 5 wire) doorlock system.

I'll try and scan a post a wiring diagream or Hailers may have already posted one.

well, if you could get that scan for me, that would be great. is there anyway i could just get a fuse box from another and replace the one i have with that?
