HELP! Poured oil into radiator

as title says i just poured oil into my radiator before i left work to my house. I flushed it out with antifreeze and water and only filled the radiator about a quarter to halfway before driving to my house which is about a mile or so away. Should i just flush with hot water? Please give me some help i just bought this rx7 yesterday

How much oil did you pour in the rad?

DoritoGuy 08-28-14 09:00 AM

a little less than a quart i believe but i flushed it out decently before bringing it home

i flushed it out right now with some boiling water. should i buy something to run through the system to help clean it out or keep flushing with hot water

Not sure what cleaner/solvent you could use.
Anything good at dissolving oil is going to be tough on the internal water seals and external hoses.

Maybe something relatively benign like Simple Green, but I'm not sure.

I know old timers used to put oil in the antifreeze years ago and it didn't hurt a thing

They then went on to invent Thalidomide.

Depending on the rubber, the oil may be much worse. Ever had a heater hose fail from oil spillage off the oil filter?
