I have an oil leak on one of the pipes under/near the battery area, in front on the belts. I'm not sure how to fix it. should I take it apart and go to autozone to ask for a replacement part. i need a little more info on what pipe is it and what its for. If you see the pic ontop let me know.or check attached.. im not sure how to post a pic that i took in this thread. thanks

Hard to say for sure from the pic, but it looks like one of the oil cooler lines. My suggestion would be to clean off all the gunk and run the engine to pinpoint the leak source. You can get chemicals to do that at a local auto parts store or you can use something like simple green and a little spray from a garden hose.

If the leak is at the oil cooler line connection shown in the pic, try tightening it a bit. If that doesn't help, and it probably won't, you will have to replace the line(s). You can get OEM replacements from Mazda or an aftermarket vendor or, if you are mechanically inclined, you can "build" your own using something like braided stainless steel hoses and AN fittings. But first confirm the exact source of the leak. I doubt that AutoZone will be of much help on this, although they may disagree with that statement. :)

Also, you should download a copy of the factory service manual from one of the links in the 2nd gen FAQ.

cant really tell from the pick, but i would also guess oil cooler line; could tell you for sure if you hosted a bigger picture and voomed out a lil'.
