help with part?

Ok so I was looking at Haynes book on rex's (fc's) and I have a gxl trim. But my question is. Looking at the book where they say the cruise control unit is I am 99% sure that what I have isn't a cruise control unit. They show the unit with only one outlet plug and that plug is on the front of the unit. But however my part has two big plug in spots also, but on the back of the unit, and the unit is connected to a wiring harness. lol now here is the other problem my car came with a 2.8L chevy engine in it so I dont know what the hell is giong on with the wiring on it. But is there a place where I can type in the service number for it to see what the heck it actually is? lol

cruise control is controlled by the ECU, if not mistakened. it is also connected to the ECU harness. if you no longer have a rotary engine in your 7, chances are that your ecu is not hooked up no more.

the cruise control actulator is in the bottom right cover, there's 2 pictured:

so would this mistory silver box that I have be an ecu? Because it is hooked up to A BUNCH of wires that went into my engine bay. Like I already got rid of the emission wires on the passenger side, and on my driver side I have my front harness I believe it is that runs along the frame coming out under the brake booster and runs up to the lights. But the ones that do up to the silver box here, the on on the driver side of the box go straight to the harness, but the one of the left (pass side) have of them go to the harness and the other half go up towards my instrument cluster and all them other wires up there.

So? What's the number? The color? The size? The number of wires in each plug? How many plugs????

Cruise Control Unit is located just behind the fuse box. An elongated unit. Usually colored bronze on 86-87. Not influenced by the ECU at all.

The motors in the jpg attached in the other post are not for a 86-87 non turbo. They are trubo and are all electrical unlike the vacuum operated n/a ones. But they will work in a 86-87.

the numbers that I can make out are serv. no. 1227302. then underneath that is is a long number but the first 2 digits you can't make out but I would say 8?4411 M610771382

color is metal lol, like bare metal. size of it is 22cm x 15cm x 4cm

2 plugs on it. the bigger plug is 5 1/2cm and the smaller one that is right beside it is 4 cm wide. And as for the amount of wires that go into each one, I dont know as the car is in my brother garage about 10 minutes away. but there is little "pins" in each of them. On the big one there is 16 by 2 and the smaller one has 12 by 2.

My bad for not saying so earlier. Exactly where is this box located again. On the drivers side or the passenger side? More exact than just driver side or passenger side. In the car? right?

on the driver side under the dashboard. It is/was in line with about the brake pedal. I hope that helps, better yet I hope you can help me ! lol

Ya I was just looking at the Haynes book and under my dashboard and noticed that I dont have my stock mazda cpu there anymore and that the holder that was holding this magical grey box looked kinda home made and sat below my power steering box. So seeing how I had a 2.8 chevy in it when I got it and this wiring harness that is hooked up to the "magical grey box" goes through my firewall right where the clutch slave cylinder would be on a manual rex. And the harness is looking very homemade also. so would that be the chevy CPU?
