HELP: oil pressure guage stopped working
 

so the rundown is the oil pressure gauge on my cluster stopped working. This thing broke and I was wondering what its called and where to locate it on a stock fc (i'm ls1 swapped) so I can start hunting. Thanks for any help

The thing pictured has nothing to do with your oil pressure unit. It has more to do, I believe, with radio static.

Either the slide on connector came off sending unit, the wire from the unit broke, or the unit itself failed. If the last, you can get a replacement at Autozone.

Remove the plug off of the oil sender and ground it temporarily to preven it from damaging the gauge and w/key to on the gauge needle should climb to the top of the range if the gauge is good. If this occurs then either the sender needs replacing or the plug on the sender is loose and not passing the signal to the gauge. Again, grounding the wire is only done to facilitate a testing of the gauge functionality and should be ungrounded immediately after testing is done.

The "thing" pictured is a condenser and actually IS a part of the oil pressure circuit, but you don't really need it.
Tape the end of the newly broken wire so it can't accidentally ground out and the gauge won't care.

I stand corrected. I knew it was a condenser, which are common for audio circuits. But, on review of the wiring schematic, it serves as a bypass to ground for the sending unit.
