Help identifying a part on an S5 Vert

First, sorry for not including a picture. I will try to explain as much as I can. The car is a 91 Convertible. The part is located in the engine bay, attached right behind the passenger headlight. It is square in nature and resembles a small amplifier.

What is it and what it does.

This question sounds more like a riddle. Lol
