help ID my roll cage
5 Attachment(s)
I bought an FC that has a roll cage already welded in place and I'm trying to figure out who manufactured it (which in turn should help me find tube wallthickness SCCA legality etc).
-It connects at 6 points but it's basically just a roll bar with added (and removable) door beams. -Cage was pre-powercoated and installed whole so I'd be surprised if it was a full custom. -The side uprights are so tight to the body that I had to section the panels made to hide the former setbelt retractor... (came with car as spare parts) -The horizontal bar that welds the two rear strut towers together is a feature I haven't seen on other cages... Any ideas? |
it looks custom to me, ive never seen one like that before

Nor have I.
I could always drill a pinhole somewhere to try to determine wall thickness but I'd rather not if I can help it. |
hope you wear a helmet when you drive around... One good crash into those things and they kinda defeat their purpose.. +1 for the custom thought.

It looks like you found yourself a master piece.

Sweet, but attach some high-impact padding in the appropriate places.

sorry, never seen it before, but I like it:)

I usually just shimmy my way over the door beam and I wonder how well the padding would hold up to repeating sliding on it during entry and exit. Haven't tracked it yet to close out those things... Anyone have a padding reference they especially like? |

Good info Avaitor... I'll look into what proper inspection holes entail. For some reason I thought they'd simply require a spec sheet. Too easy to forge probably.
Verdict seems to be full custom by some unknown shop assumed to be in the Dalla area... (I drove from Cali to Texas to buy this car...) Anyone else care to chime in? |
