Help Help Oh Please Help
 

My car has been running great until yesterday. It wont idle anymore, and if it does it just about stalls everytime i push the clutch in or stop at a light. What in the world is causing this? Also it wont even do the auto rev thingy to warm the car up, it goes to 3k and then just drops and stalls. Hope you all can help cause i want my car running good again. Oh by the way its a 90 GTU and i changed the spark plugs cause i thought that might be part of the problem but it still stalls.

have you changed the clutch recently? if not, check out your throttle body to make sure the thermowax is doing its job

Sounds like a big vacuum leak. Check all hoses, especially the turbo inlet duct.

how would i go about checking for a vacuum leak?

Check all connections between the airflow meter and the throttle body.&nbsp Something popped loose to cause that kinda stalling problem...

Haha i have no idea what im looking for here, so if you had some pictures or could tell me where to look for the hoses that would be awsome.

hybridracer i think i might have the same problem i though it was the idel i havent had a change to get outside and fook around with it though

Oops, I just noticed you said it was a GTU! You can stop looking for you turbo inlet duct now! :D
Do a thorough visual inspection first, looking for any hoses that may have popped off.
The normal way to check for vac leaks is by spraying carb cleaner into potential leaks while the engine is idling and seeing if the revs rise. You need to give the engine just enough throttle to idle a bit rough (get a mate to do this at the TB) and spray around the AFM outlet and the throttle body. When the spray hits a leak it'll raise and smooth out the idle briefly. Good luck!
