you burn the harness going to the light switch at all?
Funny thing about light switches, some work on the car and others don't.
I swapped out one that was off another s4 and it buzzed.I knew I had to disconnect the power right away.

Make sure the HEAD and RETRACT fuses are good in the engine bay.

Remove the turn switch you just installed and leave it off the car.

Turn the headlights on. Do the headlight assy's come up or not? Do the headlights themselves come on but just not come up? Or both, no lights and no up/down?

No sense going on until those questions are answered.

Do what mistersty above suggested. Pull the plug off the headlight switch and look in the plug. In the corner should be a green/white wire so look to see if it's burnt in that area of the plug. IF so then get another short harness to the headlight switch.

I think you've blown the headlight fuse in the engine bay if the headlights are not coming on. That is not the major problem. The headlight switch and it's harness are the major problem.

When you turn the headlight sw to ON what you do is put a GROUND on the headlight relay in the engine bay via the switch.

To get the headlight assy's up you turn the switch to ON and there is a relay in the headlight switch that feeds power to the headlight assy's to make them come up/down.

Headlight switch is toast or the harness to it is toast. Look for the burnt wires in the plug.
