Hello and a couple basic questions
I just picked up a 90 GLX, 5 spd. No battery, but is said to have run last week. The questions start with:
The battery cable that runs to the starter should be the positive (+) right? There is a short (2-3") pig tail running off the clamp that connects to what? The other cable (yellow stripe) is the ground (-) right? There are two heavier wires attached to the cable that run toward the battery but are connected to nothing either. What are they for? The reason I ask these questions is because I hooked up a charged battery, pressed the clutch, turned the key and nothing happened. I then tried a portable jumpstarter and nothing, then we attempted to push start it in second and nothing. No lights, door chime... There must be a short somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. Before this car, all my work has been on 65-68 Mustangs. Very simple. I will try to contact the guy who drove it last and see if there is a magic button. Thanks |
A picture of the wires might help.

I'll try to get one posted.
