Heavy Vibration

Hey guys, My car shakes really badly in 1st gear as I'm just starting out (normally, not racing). I AM feathering the clutch and I've tried launching from 750-3000RPM's. Untill the clutch is engaged fully, the entire car vibrates (I am getting full traction). Is this normal since mazda doesnt make the best transmissions in the world? Is something wrong. BTW I replaced the clutch last summer, nothing fancy, just the stock one.

Thanx

my friend had the same problem. maybe the throw out bearing.

I have an 86 GXL and the same problem. However my clutch has 95k miles on it and at least 2 people learned on it but i dont think that is the problem. Mine tends to do it when i am at low revs (under 1000) in first and giving it moderate gass. My first syncros are pretty bad but it NEVERR slips out of gear and i have no real tranny problems. It might be the pulsing of the engine especialy since at high miles you might not be getting equal power out of both rotors. So oyu figure 1k rpms is like 500 combustios per rotor is it that fast? i am pretty shure mine is. I 'd like to hear what other think though

the 2nd gens are notorious for having alot of engine vibration at lowspeed launches. I think an engine brace helps this. Or, it could be your motor mounts. Check to see if they are tight.

hmmm interesting. I will definatly check that. And we have to keep in mind this engine is ment to rev NOT chug along. When i starl over 1500 i have NO problem. Thanx

Check for a broken u-joint on the driveshaft.

I was thinking u-joint too.

I had that problem with my 2nd Gen until I got my flywheel resurfaced. No problem since.
