heater problems

so i was having issues with my heater, all the lights work but nothing happens when you turn it on no sounds or nothing so i swapped it out for another one same problem so i just tried a 3rd one and it still dosent work..:wallbash: i checked the big heater fuse and tried swapping in a differnt one and it didnt help.. this is really pissing me off what else could it be?

TehMonkay 12-04-07 04:01 PM

you mean the blower motor? if you have tried 3 blower motors, perhaps the logicon is bad?

13bturbofc 12-04-07 04:39 PM

no i tried 3 logicons i didnt try swapping the blower motor..but wouldnt you still hear the air mix motor changing when you use the other buttons?

TehMonkay 12-04-07 05:51 PM

you should be able to hear the air mix change i think. does the blower motor come on? I think it may also have a relay somewhere.

13bturbofc 12-04-07 06:11 PM

yeah when i go to turn the blower on it dosent kick on at all and there is no sound what so ever and when i push the selector buttons there is sound either..im lost on what to do next please someone help its F%$$# cold out

13bturbofc 12-04-07 07:32 PM

anyone know if there is a relay or another fuse?

SpikeDerailed 12-04-07 08:07 PM

Have you tested to see if you are getting voltage to the blower motor? its possible to motor is seized up.

13bturbofc 12-04-07 08:13 PM

i havent tested it yet but i will... how do you explain the airmix motor not making any sound

SpikeDerailed 12-04-07 08:22 PM

what year is your car?

13bturbofc 12-04-07 08:25 PM

see if that loads for you, if not shoot me a PM I have a diagram or two I can send you.

13bturbofc 12-04-07 08:32 PM

yeah it loaded but holy shit i have no idea what im looking at lol im horrible at looking at wire diagrams although i dont think i see any relays on there

13bturbofc 12-05-07 06:38 AM

it cant be just the fan cause when you switch it from cold to hot there is no sound

13bturbofc 12-05-07 04:10 PM

i tested the fan with strait 12 volt source and it works....this really sucks!

13bturbofc 12-06-07 07:00 AM

damn ive been searching and searching and i just cant really find any other helpful info about this on the forum i hope some more people will chime in

13bturbofc 12-06-07 03:54 PM

freemanrx7 12-09-07 11:00 PM

Sorry...sloppy reading on my part.

Presumably you've already checked the fuses?
The FSM says that there is not only the obvious one- 30A "Heater"- but the "Wiper" fuse as well.
After that, the point of commonality between the air mix motor and the blower motor is the bloody, already replaced three times, Logicon. You'll have to sort through the wiring diagrams and make sure the Logicon is getting power when the ignition is on since it kinda sounds like it's not.
BTW...do the indicator lights on the Logicon come on with the main lighting?

I had a similar problem. It turned out that the big connector at the back of the dash that the logicon plugs into was bad. If I fiddled with it, the heat would work for a while. I'm going to need to pull the dash to fix the problem.

yes i have already checked the main 30A fuse i did not check the wiper fuse but the wipers work so im assuming that means its ok.
when i turn the lights on all the lights on the logicon light up except all the button lights are out like where you select floor vent ect. i still cant figure it out but im not gonna give up i need heat damnit!!

I have the same exact problem in my 88, if u got it fixed what did you do to fix it? and why would you need to check the wiper fuse if the wipers work? i really need some help because it is below zero right now in the mourning
