Heat Wrap and Exhaust temps
 

Im looking around at Heat wraps for my exhaust and i can see that most of them can handle "only" 2000F , my question is how hot does the exhausts from a 13b Turbo set at aprox 350 hp get? Or how hot does the a stock streetported 13b turbo get. Would a heat wrap sustaining that heat be enough?

Atm im having a heat problem in my exhaust( prob due too clogged cat) but i got new pipes on order and im getting rid of both pre-cat and cat so this and 3 inch all the way, this should lower my temps generally shouldnt it?

I am looking at getting mine done soon too and everything I have read says that the 2000 deg stuff works fine.

i have gotten that stuff works great keep my passenger some what cool with in my FB running a 13B TII. the only prob i found with it is i have cheap exhaust pipe and with the water/snow and salt its rusting under neath LOTS!!! but if you have stainless it wont hurt any.

Copper wrap improves heat resistance up to 30% its a little more expensive but i think it would last longer. I have never used it so maybe the cheaper wrap will do the job.

The off the shelf wraps from DEI and the like are fine. Just wrap several layers.

With turbo blankets, it pays to spend some money. The DEI turbo blanket, for example, had a lifespan of about 4 weeks on my car.
