Head Lights stopped working

I was switching out the console (I guess) it is the black cheap plastic piece around the steering wheel with the lights, wipers and turn signals on it. I un hooked the battery, then unplugged all the connectors and installed the new console thingy. When I hook the battery back up correctly a continous popping sound came from the head light area. I unhook the battery and went to investigate. The connector that hooks up to the lights on/off switch would spark and pop when touched. So I changed out that part and plugged the battery back up. Everything worked except the head lights. The wipers worked fine, the lights flip up and the parking lights work...even the bright lights worked...but not the main headlights...HELP!! What can I do?

I have checked the Fuses under the hood the 30A. It is good. Their doesnt seem to be a fuse under the steering wheel that controls headlights.

Try the "Head fuse" in the engine fuse box.

You might have damaged either the headlight harness, headlight switch or both. Disconnect the harness from the switch and check for any damage. If the White/Blue wire at the headlight relay receives a ground then the lights should turn on so jumper a ground temporarily to the W/L wire at this relay and see if the lights turn on or not as they should, no key necessary and the headlight switch can be in the off position.

did you check to see if the headlights are burned out? maybe that clicking noise was the filament burning out due to a short? just giving an idea
