HD2 SPL front lip!!
first you need garden wall, or lawn edging. then you need some 1" self tapping screws, also some razors if you dont already have some.

few more pics of the completed project would be nice, like to see how it turned out.

I hope that DIY lip receives some paint, otherwise is just looks like some rubber bolted to your car hehe
|
just dont tel people its lawn edging

yah i wanna see more pics this might be cool

At speed, that thing is going to fold under and actually try to lift the front end off the ground instead of pulling it down and forcing more air over the radiator.... Buy a helmet, i think you're going to need it.
I give you an "A" for creativeness and a "D" for thinking before you act. You do realize that now you have 30 bizillion holes in your air dam and every time you hit a speed bump or a dip, that thing is going to scrape like hell. I'm all about doin it yourself, but, i wanna see what you think of it after a month. |
very creative.....but im not sure about it.

lol, i used to see people do this all the time on vw's A1, and A2's mainly, looks pretty good from 10 feet away, but when you get up close, you can tell what it is.

yea, actually it doesnt really fold at all... i took it on the freeway and did about 100mph and no fold (my friend was driving next to me.)
the only thing that i put holes into was my bumper cover. i was heinously low about 3 fingers off the ground, and i scraped places that i didnt think anyone could, so i shortened it. i chopped off the top double layer and put it over the bottom. here are the completed picutres, i thought i included them. guess not, hmm these are the pictures that i took the day of install, i'll have new ones later http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...5/fa353c6b.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/fa353c5f.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...e/fa353c2d.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b/fa353c46.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/fa353c56.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...4/fa353ace.jpg |
It's almost time to start planting here in Florida...thanks for reminding me.
|
Good grief. F#CK THAT LOOKS STUPID!
|
I like the lips that point forward, make one of those.
|
OMFG NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK now go to www.riceboy.com and post your car there. It will match the Civic hatch that did this. That so reminds me of Nascar or something. |
hahaahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahh it looks a bit better now that it is shorter and has flares on the end :)
i put it in the car because i have been wanting to know how it looks for quite some time :) my next step is to make a front air defuser made out of plywood like roger foo and others :) |

I seriously hope I didn't come across as nasty. I should have ended with a smiley. If you were able to heat and bend it forward like it almost looks like in this picture: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...f/fa353cd3.jpg it would be a start.

dumb dumb dumb

Hmm, not my choice....
oh and your head lights need a little work.... |
ok, if you want to use this stuff on the front ent of your car I would only expose the rolled end and mounting the remained BEHIND the car's factory nose/airdam. this way only the black moulding of the home depot crap is showing and appears right where the factory airdam ends... would look more like a small protector for the car - I think that would look good, and no screws in the bumper...double sided tape and or a couple DIY clips (apparently many many new body add ons for new cars attach ONLY with double sided tape, scary!!)
|
heh i was goign to do that but that cost too much. i put some zip ties on the ends on it just in case :)
|
I have done the same thing on my car, but my screws are all lined up and I painted them black. As for the way it looks on my car I think it's pretty bad ass. Although I don't think it does much, if anything at all. Personally I think it looks better on a car that has matching paint. Mine has new Viper Race Yellow paint and I think with my black powder coated phone dials and the black garden shit it makes for a good offset for the yellow. I might take mine off though cuz it's annoying the way it scrapes on every bump over 2". My car is lowered as well so it sits even closer to the ground.

TantricScorpio, do you have any pictures of yours? I do not at all like how FC3Slider's turned out, but I am a fair man and will look at more than one example before reaching a conclusion.

Hook me up with your e-mail and I'll send them to you.
