have a problem! need some help

I know i have needed brakes for some time now, but i have just been putting it off like a asshole. my front calipers pistons have always "creaked", but i think most of my stopping power comes from my rear brakes. (not good)

so heres the problem...driving tonight, after a 20 minute highway ride, i began hearing a grinding coming from the front.
now i have heard brakes that are grinding metal to metal, and thats a SURE sign that they need to be replaced....
but mine sounds like that kinda, but when i turn the wheel from left to right and the sound goes away. that i dont understand.

this sucks because im going to vegas in less then a month and now i know ill have to charge a shit load to get this fixed.

where can i get discounted front rotors? pads?
this sucks! im afraid to drive the car, and im 15 miles from home:mad:

You can limp in by driving as though the front brakes have failed.
Drive real easy & use the hand brake.
A brake shop can tell if your rotors are FUBAR.

if the grinding goes away when turning you could have either a crack in your pad causing uneven wear (worn oin one side, ok on the other) or you may actually have wheel bearing problems. does the steering wheel shake? Replace everything at once, you'll be glad you did. Look for a company called "World Pac" they have fantastic prices on replacement parts, sometimes its even OEM!!!!!

i have noticed that if i make a big left or right, the grinding will begin and remain for a bit...and then go away. its strange.
yeah im going to have to fix it all..atleast the fronts. World Pac? is there a web site?

will s5 front calipers fit on a s4 turbo2?

thanks for the help.

wtf? Did you know you were posting in a thread? Try hitting the "new thread" button.

Time to get that bitch up in the air and take a look at your braking system. Be prepared to be replacing at least the front rotors/brake pads and that wheel bearing idea could also be somtihng to check out my man. Goodluck
