Car: 84 w/88 13B, wiring, and ECU.

Okay, I'm at an even bigger loss than before. I got my ignition system to work just fine (thanks to HAILERS), and I just finished making sure that there is fuel pressure at the engine. Unfortunately, it will only crank without starting. Is there some little wire that needs to be attached in order for the car to start? Like something telling the ECU that the clutch isn't in or someting. How about my injetors, can I test them without having to rip off all the throttle body stuff? I pulled the plugs and they didn't appear to be wet so this may be a problem. Maybe there's a vacuum leak in my ACV block-off plate, would this stop me from starting?

If you are certain you have fuel/spark and it will crank but not start, try moving some of the pulleys by hand. I have seen that if the belts on my TII arent PERFECTLY aligned, the car will crank somewhat slower and not want to start at all.

Thats the first thing I would check, especially the alternator, look at the belts while cranking also, if they arent aligned they will give off black debris all over the alternator or other accessory.

I only have one belt (water pump and alternator) and it is seated very nicely. Snug, but not too snug.

Tried holding your gas pedal down all the way and then cranking? I beleive this puts the computer in unflooding mode. You have to hold the gas down and then crank it. Did you try manually turning the pulleys?

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the clutch-down safety thing. This safety prevents the car to start when the clutch is not pressed down. When you don't press the clutch the engine will not crank at all.
I suggest you check the ecu-errorcodes, there is a howto somewhere on www.fc3s.org

Ahhh, forget it. I'm a freaking moron. I had the fuel lines connected backwards. Just switched em and fired her up. Great idle, good oil pressure, solid all around. YEAH!!

So you have spark now. And the engine turns over. Try this: Buy a can of STARTER FLUID. Spray for about one second to two seconds in the intake prior to the air flow meter. NO MORE THAN THAT. Crank the car over. If you have spark, the car should go varoooom for a moment. CAUTION: Do not spray continuously into the intake to keep the car running. This procedure is only to see if what you lack is truly fuel and to prove you have spark. Once you determine you have spark, by the engine going varoooooom for a moment, then you can press on to find out the rest of the problem.

One more thing since you have the engine in a 84. Make sure the fuel feed from the fuel tank goes to the fwd of the two fuel feed tubes. Make sense???? If not write back.
