Hatch Problem
 

So on my 88 GXL the drive side rear hatch hook doesn't disengage when i pull on the hatch lever. I took off the rear carpet and notices the bar is not being pulled enough to trigger it. Any ideas on how to fix this. Tried tightening up the cable but that didn't work.
