What is the plastic thing that's usually here called, and what is it for? I had to remove it to check for rust but i destroyed it in the process

excellent guess! the part inside the car is an Chamber Extractor, FB01-51-920A and FB01-51-940A they are both NLA

the little grille that goes over them is F044-51-910A and F044-51-930A also NLA

i think every FC coupe has the same stuff, so finding these may not be too bad

Incase anybody was wondering... these vents allow the interior of the car to vent allegedly without letting water in. I blame these vents for the rust that usually occurs directly in front of the rear tire on the bottom of the rocker panel. On cars with sunroofs, the rear drain tubes are somehow routed into these through the various box sections of the B pillar so moisture that gets past the sunroof seal can collect in the sill around the hatch opening and hopefully make its way to the ground through the drain tubes in the sill. If memory serves, they have a plastic duct that points upwards inside the B pillar. I believe you have to remove the hatch to rotate them out of their home without breaking them. I believe the edging around the corner of the hatch (usually missing or damaged on most FCs) helps to keep water from directly falling into these vents, and also possibly helps to create a low pressure area while the car is moving to help draw air out of these vents and thus through the HVAC vents in the dash.
