Has anyone used a tow bar on a fc???

I recently bought another fc and will be picking up this weekend. I've used a tow bar on first gen rx7s from the bumper shocks, but fc's have none. Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance

I own/ used a tow bar on both the FB and FC. Worked GREAT on both of them. With the FC I had to remove the front bumper then drill two holes into the black bumper support thats bolted to the frame. Didn't take long at all and the support bar seemed to hold up no problem with no cracking or anything over the 4 hour drive i had.

Rent a tow dolly if they are near you. Inexpensive and trouble free.

My father spent about $50 more and bought a tow bar instead of renting a dolly. Sure dolly's are nice but owning a tow bar is much cheaper if you plan to tow more than once. Tow bars are small/compact but yet strong enough for our FB and FC's.

The first time i used a tow bar was on a 12hr trip back with a FB. Not one problem the entire time.

Ever try using an ordinary, low cost tow bar on modern cars? Oh yes you did, on the FC, remove bumper and drill holes. Sorry, but that's not my kind of convenience or safety, and towing with 2 wheels down is a lot eaasier than 4 down. Just my .02 cents.

Sure a tow dolly is a bit quicker but doesnt mean it's any safer. Towing a car in general isnt as safe as driving one. Durrrrrrr. Ive used tow dollys many times. Anyone can tow stuff no problem with common sense. I much rather own a tow bar and save the $70+ to rent a dolly. MANY times i tried to rent a dolly and they were out of stock. If you own a tow bar you car bolt it up and tow away quicker than it would be to find a place and rent one. SORTA but it depends... And FYI with a tow bar and four wheels on the ground. You have the key in the ON position so it can help steer unlike a dolly. Tow bars steer better IMHO. :egrin: O YA just my .02 cents hehe

Yup, you're right, I was off the subject that the OP asked, and if a tow bar is your
choice and you've had no problems it's use, it would be good to go.
