Half Headlight Conversion...

How do you guys wire your headlights to only come up a little bit, or halfway, or all the way down shining through the flash-to-pass lenses?? I think it's so mean lookin and i wanna do it

3RotorRocket 11-13-03 06:03 PM

genII Drifter 11-13-03 06:11 PM

first, we need to do a search... then, act upon the information that you found in the search..... then see of it worked.

the way i did it is to take out the fuse in the motor bay located above the battery. take out the headlight retractor fuse. Now get under your car and manually turn the manual retractor knob and turn until headlight rises. make sure you count the turns casue it makes them even in the end. the other way to do it is buy a module that does it by controlls inside the car it is about 80 dollars. check my profile it ha a pic of "lazy eyes" not the best pic (camera phone) but you get the idea.

Double post X 2. Heh. I like that lazy-eye look :)

GEINN FC3S 11-13-03 07:01 PM

aka sleepy eyez/lazy eyez

BigRTII 11-13-03 07:29 PM

sorry for postn so much i double clicked in it and it went 3 times ova crazy stuff

Bauer778 11-13-03 07:36 PM

the way that i did it was take out the head light retractor fuse then go in the car and turn the headlights on, then got to the fuse box and put the fuse in a little bit for a brief second then pull it out at the desired height, thats the easiest way to do it in my opinion

krazykoncepts 11-13-03 08:02 PM

y did u have to put the fuse back in for a brief second?

StealthGXL 11-13-03 08:18 PM

For ^^^
So the headlights pop up. That's only for a second you have it in. Then when it gets to the height you want it at you take it out again. Like Bauer said

krazykoncepts 11-13-03 09:27 PM

after reading it again it makes sense..lol

Bauer778 11-13-03 09:31 PM

yea sorry didnt mention the part about leaving it out thanks Stealth

Turbo23 11-13-03 09:33 PM

ask 1FastT2, he has his own personal headlight conversion which is sweet!

cloead 11-13-03 09:46 PM

someone was gonna make a mod that would allow you to have a "sleepy" position, along with all the way up and closed.. i dont know if he ever released it

AngelSlide 11-13-03 09:48 PM

check raretrick.com i know they had one for the 240 maybe they have somethign available for the fc and fd. I know there are kits out there. ones that come with smaller lift arms so the light do go all the way up when on.

SureShot 11-14-03 09:55 AM

A better spin:
That mod would probably be more popular if we called it mean eyez, instead of sleepy eyez.

ViperKillerWannabe 11-14-03 10:03 AM

I don't like the look, personally. I'd rather have a sleek light kit like the RE front.

jreynish 11-14-03 10:11 AM

I think they are quite nice stock! But if you want the sleepy eyez look there is a kit from knight sports! which 1fastT2 has made a very nice setup which is similar!

If you like the "yet-another-broken-Mazda" look that's fine, but please don't drive around like this at night. That would be dangerous and stupid, as it dramatically reduces the light output of the headlights.

cloead 11-14-03 06:46 PM

yea dont do it at night.. its pretty bad trying to drive with your lights half open

enrique 11-14-03 08:34 PM

I bought the pivot controller. it allows the head lamps to be fully opened when turned on and when off you can adjust the amount the head lamp is left open. to some not worth the money. its what I wanted with little effort to get the look and full operation of lights. simple install to. took less than 15 minutes.

aigoonamja 11-14-03 08:43 PM

I got pivot controller. What color wire do i splice into?
