GXLII: Running, driving, limp mode (ARGH!)
Alright, I'm soooooooo damn close to being done with this thing, the car starts, idles, drives, all that good stuff without a hitch (well, the idle does hunt whenever I push in the clutch, but regardless) and I started driving it around (and low and behold it didn't kick my ass after 5 minutes) and woo was I amazed when it made it a mile at 25mph without hesitating! (YEEHAW!) Until, my check engine light pops on (oh no!) And, low and behold I notice i have NO pickup whatsoever, but the car keeps on kicking. I get it home (it did drive fine below 3000rpm) and check the error codes: 27 MOP! God damn limp mode! Damn you to hell! I just spent the past 4 hours fixing every vacuum leak, replacing the fuel rails, replacing 2 bad oil injectors, and now the damn MOP is bad too! argh! Anyway, just thought I'd vent and get this outta my system :) The good news is it started right up and idled perfectly (until I played with the TPS, now it hunts back and forth) But anyway, I'm starting to get close and I'm beyond anxious! Oh, I also installed the MSD 6A, put on a s5 TII wing, added a k&n filter & custom tid, and other small things. Anyway.... *steps off soapbox*
