GXL-TurboII

I am currently still in the stages of figureing out this thing called rotary power. (Just got my GXL three days ago.) I bought it as both a daily driver and hope to enter it into D1 eventually. ( Big dreams I know but if you try to qwell them I will destroy your car with a hammer or what our little friend here is holding :Kill1: .) Im just looking for some basic links to anything that would tell me what I would have to do to drop a TII motor into my GXL, aside from the basics also just out of curiosity is the wiring harness any differnt. And dose anything really need to be done to my ECU other than a ne set of capacitors? And I had a guy at a dealer ship tell me that the trannys were the same but he was kinda hesitant so I just want to double check on that. And who makes A good LSD for our cars I cant find one thats not used.(I wont buy used tranny or driveline parts.)
Thanks for the help if I recive any.

Just research for 6months or so if your car is currently running good. No need to tear apart a perfectly good running car. The turbo trannys are different from the non-turbo ones. KAAZ makes a nice replacement lsd for the 7" non-turbo rear end. If you do decide to do the turbo swap (13bt) you should consider doing the transmission, and the rear end aswell to a turbo model. A full turbo swap will bolt right up, engine to rear end. You will need to get a turbo ecu, wiring harness *or modify your n-t harness), tII afm, tII pressure sensor, tII hood or front mount I/C, and a knock box. As you will probably get flamed by other members because you did not search and this topic is covered at lease once a week I'm just givin you a heads up :D put on your suit. But I wouldn't bother with the swap as long as your non-turbo engine is running good. Get a bike with the swap money :) then you have all the speed/death you could ever want.

I have a GXL-TII. But you'll have to look around like I did. You can get it done and running fine for under $2500 including a rebuild if you look around enough. Trust me. Running perfect now for almost a year. And I'm not all that nice to her.

Learn to drift with the current setup, then as you get better, do the swap.

You NEED to take a look at the FAQ. It contains everything you ever would want to know about swapping from NA to turbo. The entire drivetrain is different between the two cars, as is the electronics (basically...).

ya ill probably do that after i go over my cousins blown tII motor and se whats salvageable i think im gonna go the cheap route and just turn my motor into a turbo motor after a rebuild with some three millimeter apex seals.

i second that its worth the swap you learn so much about your rx 7 but i must note i would get a 3rd gen fuel pump and start with brand knew injectors dont bother getting them cleaned just start your fuel right first time thats why our motors blow we start adding performance parts then we over boost then boooom goes your engine if you have the money start simple with a rtec 1.7 upgrade its a simple swap there are many members who can answer your questions ...fuel fuel fuel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
