Guys, what sensor is this?

Im trying to button everything up and start the car but i have this gaping sensor hole in the waterpump housing. Its not the top sensor, it is the one right under it. I dont kno what it is nor do i kno if i need it. If i dont need it i would rather block it off.
If i do need it ill buy one immediately off of anyone :icon_tup:

thanx in advance

Isnt that where there is suppose to be a nipple to run coolant through the throttle body?
It looks like your is broke off leaving you with an open hole.

No, the nipple to the throttle body is on the rear plate. The return line is right there to the right of the sensor.

Or vice versa.

the hole is threaded so its def a sensor or something. Im not sure exactly what it is, i just bought a little block off brass fitting but i dont wanna use it unless i know what it is.

It was probably the stock sensor. But you got a microtech which has it's own sensor it uses, and thus needs to have the pump housing drilled/tapped. I see the location of the current sensor moved up closer to the neck opening. Careful... it could block the t'stat!

Big88chevy 07-26-09 04:04 PM

ok, i guess im blocking it off then.

if you have a microtec you definitely dont need it.
