gunk problem?
so heres the deal: oil filler neck has a yellowish mucus looking film that builds up every couple of days. i did the "taste" test, you know, coolant is sweet to the human tongue. well, it is not sweet tasting so it cant be coolant. it is more like an oily gas smelling gunk. what could that be?
also i have rough start and rough cold idle. start up smoke when cold. the only thing i have not changed on the car is the fuel injectors. literally, i have replaced everything else besides the injectors. it is a 91' n/a. does anyone have injectors for sale/trade? |
Easy. There is moisture in the oil filler/pan. Pretty common if emissions/rats nest has been removed. Is your crank case vent system still hooked up?
The second part requires a lot more trouble shooting. |
no, the vent system is not hooked up at all. i just left the lines off. let me get this right: there is a vent on the actual oil filler neck and then there is one below that, correct? how do i go about setting it up right?

check this out.........i found a way to keep the condensation from getting into your oil filler cap: on both nipples(crankcase and filler neck), just put 2 oil injector nozzles on them with the vacuum nipple towards the crankcase and filler neck. they work because they are one way valves just like a pcv valve. and also, the problem with my car running funky intermittently was nothing other than a primary fuel injector pintle cap that was cracked.
