Grounding... is it bad to.....
is it bad to ground 2 areas to 1 spot??? eg. leading and trailing coil to the same spot???
thanks |
Nope, it's just fine as long as it's not like a tiny wire you're grounding them to, if it's a spot on the frame or something it's just fine.
its even better.. because you know that spot has a solid ground, so USE it! (assuming its on the chassis or near a decent gauge wire going to the battery ground)
if it were plausable, id run a ground wire from the battery to EVERYTHING.. except the um.. power wires and such.. |
There's nothing wrong with it, but since the two coils are at opposite ends of the engine bay I'm not sure why you'd bother. Find somewhere closer.
The only ground for the coil assy is thru the chassis of the coil assy to the .....chassis of the car. Where the coil assy attaches to the car. Three studs and nuts. It's difficult for me to see how adding a wire to the coil chassis will do squat.
If your firewall ground has gotten weak, and you have not noticed it, an engine to coil mount ground will seem like a miracle!
thanks guys.... maybe when i get time to take pics ill show all what the grounding looks like.. i bought these grounding wires from canadian tire... that look like braided stainless steel but is actually copper.... pretty nice ....
the only ground you need is from the postive terminal to the chassis. Plus, when you add that ground you get this cool spark effect under the hood for a while. :)
ive heard on negative grounding.... now i am really confused...... does it make a difference when grounding (-) or (+) to the chassis????
thanks |
i'm sorry if I confused you, I was joking. NEVER attach the positive (+) to the chassis!
Uhh, do NOT ground the positive. THat was a horribly misplaced joke that should've had more thought behind it. That'll blow fry a lot of shit.
A few probably took you seriously, I bet. That's no Joke dude!
