Gremlin Alert!

I finally fixed my final gremlin.

The first one I encountered, problems starting and hesitation (3800 type).

Fix: New ground and a new pos. terminal

Idiot lights didn't work right, half worked and the clock faded in and out

Fix: Resoldered the board, all works great.

Wipers didn't return to home, delay/high/mist didn't work. Only had low.

Fix: New wiper switch. All work great.

Fixed all the power and ground wires to my full aftermarket stereo and that works fine.

Even replaced the sun visor that broke, the torn shifter boot, cracked windshield, and the console that didn't have a spring in it.

Now, why am I telling you all this?

B/c we all know that the gremlins that live in our cars never die, they just move around. So, I am warning you guys that my gremlins have all moved out and are looking for homes!

(I am hoping they all moved into my parts car that is soon to be gone!)

Nah, they're still in there.

Waiting to show up in another form. I like you thought I had killed every electrical Gremlin our 2nd Gen's are known for.

BUT!!!!

Last couple months the main power to the ignition switch would ever so often cut out. Bummer as the whole car totally dies in that situation.

Checked the main 80 amp fuse, looked ok, changed anyway. Still kept cutting out.

Checked the Heavy guage wire connnectors that run to the ignition multi-switch. Was ok, soldered tigher anyway. Still kept cutting out.

Replaced the ignition switch. Still kept cutting out.

Only thing left was the single solid run of heavy guage wire running from the main fuse box through the main wire loom to the connector for the ignition multi-switch. Ran a separate jumper wire from the main fuse box (yes from the firewall side of the fuse) to connector to the multi-switch. No problem since.

Conclusion, there is a broken connection in the solid hunk of wire between main fuse box running through the main wire loom to the connector to the ignition multi-switch.

How could that have happened. Only logical answer is Gremlins!!!!!!

Don't give my gremlins any ideas!

Damnit, I just know they heard you and are already conspiring to get me!

so you don't wake them, and don't leave food in your car after midnight.

There is a rumor that there will be a Gremlin Exorcist at 7Stock. But can't confirm.
