gotta get my baby running before school starts

ok so here's the scoop, i checked a bunch of shit, everything works, i am a little confused.... i've got compression, spark, and fuel. the spark definitely works, but when i throw a timing light on it, the light doesn't work, and the timing light isn't faulty because it works on my friends car.... then there's a factor with it flooding all the time so i'm assuming that one of the injectors is stuck open ( car was sitting for two years in a garage before i bought it) and there may be a problem with one of the sensors.... the mass air flow sensor my friend and i lubed up and fixed it from being stuck open all the time, it works fine now. the idle sensor button under the throttle doesn't stick at all and i know i'm missing another sensor but i can't think of it at the time. i have to have the car running by next monday since that's when i start school, if worst comes to worst i'll bring it to a shop this week, but for now i'm doing what i can to get her going. i'll keep everyone updated as well ;)

What exactly are the symptoms? Once we know whats happening we can help you out.

how do you know that the spark is working? did you physically see THOSE PLUGS sparking? or are you just getting a spark from the coil to the wire. The plugs may be bad...

Spark rarely fails on an FC.

If it's been sitting for two years in some one's garage... I'd rebuild the engine but you may not have the time for that. Not sure what to say, I don't have any real first-hand experience with engine troubleshooting. Good luck, and I hope you get it fixed in time.

LOL. i had the exact same problem with my car. I'll tell you what to do. Go to a parts store and pick up 4 new plugs and a set of new plug wires. this fixed mine right up. now... for the flooding part.. i cant help you there but thats probably the reason your plugs are fouled.

let us know if that works

hey boyyyyys sorry i didn't really explain too much, yea i got new plugs and wires for it a couple weeks ago. i took each plug out individually and grounded them out to the engine and physically watched them spark. they're all still sparkin, one symptom to the spark plugs that i noticed is that the top ones are always flooded and drenched with gas, yet the bottom ones are black and dry... it's to my understanding that the bottom ones go to the leading coil which should mean that those primarily fire it... but the trailing coils don't seem to be getting black........ this could mean that the bottom rotor isn't getting any fuel, or the top one is just getting too much to spark into. either way, the timing light won't work on any of the wires at all. when i first bought the car i cleaned the air box and got a new air filter, got new plugs and wires, one of the coils was corroded and i replaced it.... things i've tested out to be good: leading and trailing coils, crank angle sensor, mass air flow sensor, all spark plugs and wires, compression in the chambers, and i didn't test the fuel compression but i can only assume it's great since it floods to death over itself. i have yet to check out the fuel injectors to see if they're stuck open or closed. some symptoms of it when it was running crappily before were that it would bog out when i pressed the pedal to the floor, and if i pressed it down gradually it would eventually rev up to 8 grand, this is when i found out one of my trailing coils was corroded and i replaced it. since then it hasn't started. when it was running it would buck a lot when i took it down the road and back. now the symptoms are: it floods horribly and even after spraying some ether into the intake she still won't even begin to try to start. there could be a number of things causing this.... i've pretty much narrowed it down to fuel injectors so i'm going to see what i can find out with those. i'll keep you posted!
