ive had experiences like that at dealerships too, i like the job, but man the people who own/run the place are A-holes most of the time, they make it really suck to work there

JWteknix 03-24-11 08:58 AM

yeah its pretty gay.
Everyone and thing is cool there but the owners always are assholes.
I had a similar situation at Mazda when I was there for 2 years. Returned from vacation to have me and my buddy layed off because they " No longer needed our class of technician" they replaced both of us with a master tech...

clean them really good then high temp engine paint cover any vital holes or surfaces with tape prior.

heres some work I got done on my instrument cluster I got my prosport 52mm wideband gauge mounted just gotta order a 45mm coolant temp guage

I really want to buy my trans and pp but ill have to wait till I kno I have another paycheck comin.

Once the motors in I can wire the rest of this stuff up. .

Sorry to hear about the crappy luck man! Hope things turn out for the better, build is look great as always keep up the good work!

JWteknix 03-27-11 07:23 AM

Thanx for the compliment man. Hopefully things start looking up, on the bright side itll give me time to figure out what I really wana do and heal my arm.

I just sprung for my last guage prosport 45mm water temp hopfully I dont have any issues,
I think im gonna driil out my water pump housing just under the thermostat does anyone know or recommend a better place?

just startn 03-27-11 10:44 AM

Under it? After the T-stat? I wouldn't put it after it. How many holes are in the BACK of the water pump housing?

I was goin to put it on the opposite side of the stock one but nOw thinking about using the location of the gauge sender at the back of the motor depending on the sensor size

If you have s5 irons it will screw right in, if you have s4 the sensor is actually bigger than the hole, so it won't work. I put mine in the stock drain plug location for now, but it reads at least -20°

Not too shabby, who makes that "50mm"gauge?

AlexG13B 03-31-11 03:25 PM

i have mine right under stock coolant sensor (for ecu on wp housing)

JWteknix 04-01-11 06:42 AM

thanks guys
I was gonna use it in the rear of the WP next the the other sensor but i have a cleaence issuse with my fuel lines running right there.
I might put it in the front of the WP.
I woulnd mind putting it in the drain plug location do u really see a 20* temp diff. I mean id really only be using it as an over heat indicator. the stock sensors hooked up to my haltech.
will it screw right in?
that guage is actually 52 mm its a prosport digital wide band

Another question regaurding oil cooler lines does it matter which location they are located on the oil cooler? there is a thermostat the flow should be directional. Does the long hose go on the top or the side?
thanx

JWteknix 04-02-11 10:32 AM

Im so retarded!!! I just realized that I left the nipple on the back of the water pump. Its not used for anything, Im gonna pull it out and tap it

The stock oil cooler?
The line coming from the front cover is the top, the line from the rear iron goes to the side.

Yeah, it's pretty close to -20* most of the time, its kinda weird though, it seems like the hotter it gets the closer it gets to accurate (@ 185" the gauge reads around 165. But when the temp is 200-205* the gauge reads in around 195 or so. It might be all the teflon tape I used to compensate for the fact that the thread pitch of the sensor and the iron aren't the same. I doesn't leak though.

I really would rather put it in the WP but I'm not gonna pull the whole assembly just to mount a sensor.
