Good instructions on removing a dash?

Here's the deal.

My grey dash in my FC has some P.O.D. (previous owner damage) and most of the plastic where the metal clips are at for various screws are broken off.

For instance, the passenger side lower panel that held the speaker and security brain is held in by one screw.

But, the dash (also grey) in my parts car is in nice shape. No vinyl damage and 90% of the underlying plastic is intact.

I have removed all the components and panels (I think) that are in the way, but I can't seem to release the top part of the dash from the car. The center console is unhooked and can be lifted maybe 5" or 6" without putting any real strain on the dash assembly.

So, how is it done without damaging anything? I am debating on doing this next week and getting rid of the shell that was my parts car.

Help!

I swapped my dash awhile back.... IT took all of about 2 hours.

If I remember corectly there are like 2 nuts on the left and right ends of the dash.
On top of the dash under the Defrost vents is a screw or 2. And I think under the idiot lights as well. Also there was a ground wire behind the radio that was kinda a bitch to get to. I rerouted that one on the re-install. Hope that helps....its been awhile.

I removed the screws around the door vents and behind the console many, many months ago

I can't remember if I removed anything near the idiot lights......

I know I couldn't get at the 2 screws I saw in the defrost vents, but they are busted up. I am going to order a new set and then take out the cracked windshield to make it easier. I want to do a carpet swap while the dash is out, then the new seats. All in all, should cost me around $500 for the whole thing.

Not bad to fully revamp the front half of my interior...
