Good deal, bad deal?

Hi,
I went to test out a 1988 GXL today, I was wondering if this is a good deal. The car has 162,xxx miles, it was mechanic owned and is mechanically sound. It has a new clutch with just over 400 miles on it, the only problems are cosmetic ( couple of dents and could use some new paint), but has no rust except a little on one of the dents the size of dime. It could use a new sunroof seal too, any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,

The guy wants 1500 for it.

It depends. Did you do a compression check on it to make sure the engine still has good compression? Just a good idea to check if haven't already cause I have had engines with a compression number of 60 still run but that is an engine ready to blow.

Other than that personally i would say it's a good price without seeing pics or the car.

Yeah, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. No smoke or anything?

No smoke the car runs really well. I will probably pick it up tomorrow.

Good luck bro!!

Mine ran well, too. Up until the day it blew up!

Seems like a pretty good deal to me. What are the compression #'s?

If they're 105psi or above, I'd say you're in good shape!
