Good To Be Back!!!

Well, X-Mas break is over, so i am back to being a forum junkie!! Over the break all I got around tot doing was buying a TII hood and gutting my cat. It rocks to be back to the forum I love so dearly!!!

How'd the car sound after gutting? The convert I just picked up definitly has the pre and main cat clogged (you can shift @ 1500rpms - it has that much back pressure :D ).

Just don't want to get too lound on the convertbile as it will be my new daily driver.

Thanks

It sounds more "full", not rice at all. My girlfriend said it is a little louder, but it is not too bad. Be prepared for a cut in bottom end torque, but the top end it quite a bit better. Warning, I had to drop the cat, and the split pipe coming from behind it to drop the cat! It took me 5 hours total for the whole job! Once I got the cat off, I just took a screwdriver and cleaned out all of the crap inside. Good luck!

Do you have a downpipe installed removing the pre-cat? The pre-cat helps quite it down as well (but causes too much backfire when it gets clogged).

I was thinking of adding the downpipe & gutting the main cat.

It helps a HUGE amoun in the Turbo II and the drop in low end torque wasn't that bad. The TII I don't let rev below 2000rpms, but the convert will accelerate off the line in 2nd gear :D

Surprising since the convert has an 8K line and the TII has a 7K redline.
