FCFRANK 08-10-10 09:21 PM

otaku85 08-11-10 01:08 PM

you should check with the guys over at citytireonline.com I usually give John or jack a call when i have a question about stuff like this he'll tell you what to avoid and what will give you the most bang for your buck

Jdrift 08-11-10 01:18 PM

I wouldn't touch that stuff. Old roomate of mine bought Godspeed parts, they looked more like repainted OEM parts and actaully had more flex then factory. I'd tell your wallet to stfu and speed a few extra bucks on proven parts. Also, something called Godspeed, makes me think that someone is about to read you your last rites and all. heh.

Any experiance to back that up? Ive seen some pretty nice godspeed pieces. My cousin has a godspeed radiator and header in his rolla. Ive thought about these coilovers but the only thing is I cant find any information that says they can be rebuilt, or where to send them to be rebuilt.

SoloII///M 08-11-10 06:27 PM

I've yet to see anything of theirs up close that was built with any manner of quality control.

I can only imagine what the stuff hidden on the inside looks like. Given the price of their stuff, it can't be good.

black89fc 08-12-10 01:14 AM

thank you all

I'm looking at some BC racing coilovers for my FD. My bro loves the set he got for his 240. I can get a couple of testimonials from people i know who have BC racing coilovers

JCurry 08-13-10 01:04 PM

just bought these for my 89 TII 2 months ago...for like 650 shipped...they do everything i want them too and seem to be great quality...ive layed them right beside my friends teins and i can honestly say thay the teins dont look to be better built at all...mine have damper controls, and independent ride height adjustment that separate from the spring perches....from what i have been reading online in other forums and such is that they come from the same factory as some of the other well known brands>>>

o and my buddy with a 240 is the one who talked me into them...he has been running them on his car for 3+ years and hasent had a problem at all...not blown out or anything

realestvin7 08-13-10 01:24 PM

You get what you pay for. Hell, I'd rather have a bad ass spring/strut combo than Godspeeds any day.

JCurry 08-13-10 01:39 PM

says the guy who probably never owned them right??? lol

If you're happy with them that's all that matters I suppose.

I just wouldn't count on those damping adjustments to do anything useful, or expect to have consistent performance from one damper to the next or even one spring to the next.

If you don't care about this stuff, more power to you.

check out zilvia.net some of the budget 240sx kids run the cheap stuff.

JCurry 08-13-10 02:34 PM

just saying, im not the most experienced in suspension parts, but from what i have been around and used, and from my more experienced friends, the godspeed coilovers are very good for the price, and im not the one to support stuff that isnt good, if i didnt like them i would say so....

Damn straight. I'll trade my 10 year old jic's for em in a heartbeat.

They come from the SAME place that makes d2, megan, ksport....etc... They're all the same damn coilover that some company orders from a china catalog and put their names on....

Apparently MOST of you DO NOT know how the budget industry works and need to grasp your neck firmly, grab the ky and pull your head from your ass.

Godspeed is an alright conpany. I like their intercooler, radiators, and other things but coilovers are a different story.

black89fc 08-15-10 12:43 AM

shit they come with a one year warranty,

oneround1 08-15-10 01:23 PM

I custom mounted my fc with s14 godspeed coilovers and have no problems at all. has front camber plates helped out. went throught 10 track days on the coilovers nothing breaking so far. like everyone said from same china factory....

otaku85 08-15-10 01:33 PM

i don't know much about godspeed. but the truth is that bc racing and many others have such as apexi tein and a few others have their parts made in the same plant in taiwan. its companies like ohlins, zeal, hks, and a few other big names that make their parts in house. parts made in house tend to have better Quality control on their products. which tends to drive up to of their products. i remember talking to MAD Mike when he was in washington for formula d, and he loves the tein suspension on the rx8. his car was the only thing close to a street car. if possible i would avoid anything manufactured in china, if you can get parts put together in in taiwan that would be best, but hey the deepness of our pockest tend to determine what we do with our money

SoloII///M 08-15-10 07:42 PM

Just because they don't break doesn't mean they don't suck.

my first fc 08-20-10 12:41 AM

my brother has had them on his 240 for a while now and they still ride like when they were new

BTP 08-20-10 02:55 AM

i have Emotor coilovers on my S13 which are pretty much the same as godspeed and they are just fine i have them for about 4 months and ride fine.the only thing is that they could go lower in the rear..

Dreamin Amati 08-20-10 03:26 AM

would you rather have a citizen watch? or a tag heuer?
