Glowshift gauges

I know a few people have had questions about these in the past, well, I bit the bullet and went for them. I got their boost, oil pressure, and water temperature gauges, as well as the A-pillar dual pod. The senders for the water & oil gauges wouldn't fit in the stock locations like I had hoped, so I had to order adapters. The one for the water temp goes in the upper rad hose, requiring you to cut it in half. The oil pressure adapter is your standard oil filter block with 1/8" NPT holes (I haven't received this yet.... that's why the oil gauge reads 100+ PSI).

I finally got around to installing the pod and gauges tonight, and flipped through the 7 different colors, and the orange goes really well with the stock gauges, and the gauges look really cool when you turn the car off, they go almost completely black.

Here a pic after the install tonight.

The only thing I didn't like about them is the A-pillar pods. All it is, is a mold that is made to screw onto your stock A-pillar trim, and it comes in black. That's great for people with black interior, it won't pop out too much, but I have the grey interior so in the daylight I'm sure it will be somewhat noticeable. Also, due to the fact of it being a screw-on piece, the fitment isn't all that great, kind of had to force it into place, and it doesn't look as nice as whole replacement pillar would've looked.

cheap. Good job. Link? I was going to go the expensive route but if they work fine then I don't need fancy.

It was $126 after shipping for 3 gauges and the pod. Search eBay for "Glowshift" and go to their store.

not a fan of the pillar (attracts unwanted attention) but I need new gauges.

100forum bux for you. Keep us posted on their accuracy also.

Boost gauge is dead on with the digital Autometer that I had in the car.

Water temp seems to be very good. I have it installed in the upper rad hose, so it only reads after the thermostat opens, but that is ok with me.

Oil pressure - I got it installed today. Due to it being in a large, open block under the filter, it will not read as high as the stock oil pressure gauge. My new gauge is reading about 14 PSI at idle, while the stock gauge reads a hair under 30. I figured that this would happen because of where the new sender is placed, but whatever. At least this new gauge is much faster responding than the stock one, which will tell you an accurate reading a minute after you need it.

good to hear. I'm going to send him an email asking about wideband gauges. If he can get the tinted one for Wideband then i found my new gauges.

I was planning to mix and match black gauges but uniformity looks good.

so where did you install your OIl pressure gauge?

Boosted11 11-15-07 05:49 PM

What size screws did you use? I also have the a-pillar with a gauge ready to be installed, but im afraid the screws are going to be very noticeable and wreck the interior.

The screws were provided, and had caps to cover the heads.

The oil pressure gauge is installed in a block that goes between the oil filter and pedestal. They don't make a wideband gauge as far as I know.

phoenix7 11-15-07 06:52 PM

they don't but asking them about it might make then get some?? either way that would be the only gauge I'd need to source if they won't have anything in the future.

Oh. Yeah that'd be cool. I was planning on just using the AEM gauge with the black face and calling it close enough. This company does make an EGT gauge though, so I was going to run it and the Wideband in a gauge pod on the dash.

phoenix7 11-15-07 07:13 PM

i think I'm gonna go with the Innovative black digital gauge. 100 bux is ok but I think I can do better.

phoenix7 11-15-07 07:14 PM

I'm now torn between the Pineapple racing Dual EGT or the ebay one. I dunno.

brianw90 01-10-09 10:46 PM
