Get This!!!
My nearly 6 year long project will be done soon! Motor is being built by Checkpoint Engineering right now. Car is at a shop in Belleville Illinois getting a few last things done like mounting the fuel cell and all the line. By the end of June I should have it running. Then get it back to the body shop to finish it off.
Geez I'm so stoked. It seems like it's been forever, some people doubt that my car even exists! I'm definately gonna represent for all the FC's out there though. |
good deal! Cant wait to see a timeslip.

Sweet, I just checked out your site. What engine are you getting built? Are you keeping the REW in there?
|
nice front airdam, where did u get it? i likey!!
|
I've always thought that was a nice looking fc. Should be bad ass when you get it done finally! :bigthumb:
|
When are you making a trip to Springfield? I'm sure Russell, myself, and others will be eager to see it.
|
It's still going to have an REW block ... but I'm going to try '89 - '91 N/A rotors. I want a little more low/midrange torque. 450 rwhp is the goal.
That's the Border nose. I also have the Border side skirts and rear finishing caps ... along with a custom dual deck wing I'll be putting on. That, finishing off the other body stuff like shaving all the turn signal holes and putting the rest of the mouldings on, and it'll look sweet! Of course, mounting up the Fikse FM/10's too. Lots more goodies like -8 line, my 1000hp pump, fuel cell, Aeromotive FPR, new IC plumbing ... and maybe a T-66 to replace the 60-1 HiFi. Custom tubular manifold on whatever turbo I use. And I'll be getting one of the new Wolf 3D v4.56's to use. To much to remember. No telling when I'll have it to Springfield, but you can come up here anytime and see it! |
Geeze, someone else is actually taking longer than me to build their car?
|
Got any pics of your project banzai?
|
what do you plan to do with the car?
Sounds impressive. |
Here are some old shots.
This is the Pineapple Stage II https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1777482 And here is a shot of the seam welding on the strut towers: |
yeah yeah well see if it ever comes around...:)
Scott... been a while since weve seen that thing...cant wait to see it get up and running. |
Yea I see lots of welds. Whats the purpose behind that? I see no Pineapple..:)
|
Bah, you cant finish your car! It wouldnt be right.

Instead of having a series of spot welds spaced 1"-2" apart, each sub-component of the chassis is welded to each other along its whole length. |
barney mobile will be alive again

Naw.. can't be.. :D
good luck... |

Bah, you cant finish your car! It wouldnt be right. Purpose? Well, it's going to be a fast as hell, good looking toy that I'll use as often as I can. It's going to have serious bling so it can be a sort of showpiece for the site ... and purpose built enough to turn 10's in the 1/4 and eat up just about anything in sight on the road course. I don't plan to competitively race the car. Just do lots of track days. Basically have fun with it. Anyway where did you purchased the tip you had on the Dynomax mufler? So you are bringing it to Sevenstock right barney mobile will be alive again |

Originally posted by BOOSTD 7 Well, I had the Dynomax cat back LONG ago and the tips were Dynomax tips. Are you talking about my current single setup? If so, that's and X-Tec muffler. https://www.rx7club.com/members/imag...m_exhaust1.jpg If its the X-tec muffler, I think they aren't in bussines anymore :( |
Hmmm, you're right .... the xtec site is now some site for aluminum garage signs. I just e-mailed Justin Heslinga, who is (was) the President of XTec Motorsports. We'll see if they're still around or not.
That XTec muffler rules by the way. Awesome piece! |
Yo,
Man, it's a race between you and Jimlab to see who can have an RX-7 sitting in their garage the longest! *grin* Just kidding, that's awesome it's going to be done soon! Keep us posted... Kevin 1989 GTUs "You gonna put your FTP's back in?" |
I've driven my car for a total of two weeks since early June of 1997. I think I have a year or two up on Jim-bo.
