Which gauges should I get?

Ok, I cant really think of anything I want for X-mas, but I got the idea to get a boost gauge. Right now I have an Autometer, but I just have this problem with it having a area for 0. Anyway I was looking into new gauges, and I cant figure out which ones to get. I dont really want to ask for anything more than 200 bucks, and I want it to be mechainical. If its possible, id like to one day eliminate all my stock gauges, and have a panel in there of all aftermarket ones. Now im just concerned with boost and EGT. If I have an EGT I dont need an a/f right? Do EGT's come with sensors? I was thinking a Greddy white face, maybe Blitz CF black light gauges. Anyone know anything about these "Pivot/SPW" Race & Rally gauges? Do mechanical gauges have peak/hold?

All input is appriciated.

All I know is that after getting my greddy 60mm peak hold EGT. I'm never buying a gauge that doesn't have memory recall again. it's so sweet. I want to ditch my crappy autometer boost for a 60mm greddy now too.

get the peak hold one's, it's worth it.

Do they have a mechanical Boost with peak/hold? Id like to pick a series of gauges that has a nice line, cause im sure ill need more gauges later, and id want to use the same brand.

Defi makes a very nice line of gauges. The RX-7 store sells them.

The higher end autometer stuff is good, as well as VDO.

The gauge will give you the mavimum reading after a run. That way you don't have to watch your gauge to know what your maximum boost, EGT, etc. was. You usually just hit a button and it tells you.

Most of the peak/hold ones have warning too dont they?

yes my 60mm greddy egt has a built in warning light which you set where to go off. it also has an aux wire output that grounds itself when that limit is hit. I have it hooked up to a buzzer. you could hook it up to anything you want, buzzer, bigger light etc.

I believe most peak hold (read, good :D ) gauges have both these features.

Not accurate usually. maybe some of the expensive ones, but why not get an HKS or Greedy, or better yet, an A'PEXi EL series.

or air/fuel
They are ok. Same as above. I like the Halmeter.
