gauge problem
I took off my air pump a while ago and as of that time my stock boost gauge stoped working, however when I blow or suck on the T connection when the car is in the on position the gauge would move!
I am woundering if the air pump removal would cause that and if I should worry, cuz everything is working properly. thanks its a 87 T2 |
So the question becomes: Why is the hose to the pressure sensor not seeing the intake pressure?
Did you remove & block off the ACV? |
I removed the air pump
and blocked off the main big line that went into the pump, thats all the air control valve is still on the car, (but I am guessing not functioning) since its not reading |
but should I be worried that its not working or it doesnt really matter?
anyone? |
com'on guys
someone must be able to help me |
I just looked up the schematic of the S4 ACV.
It should not cause a vac leak, BUT it could if either of two diaphragms inside it happen to be old & leaking. |
oo ok
do u know how to ckeck them?` |
If the boost gauge is not working you should be very worried, because it means the ECU may not be getting a boost reading. Unless you have an aftermarket gauge as well, there shouldn't be a tee in that line, so I'm not sure where you're blowing into. The line should go straight from the pressure sensor to the nipple near the top of the ACV that point sideways.
This is not a "faulty" AVC. That nipple goes straight through the ACV into the manifold, so there's nothing in there to fail. Check the passage isn't blocked. |
