Gauge identification/purpose.

Hey guys, dude before me set up this gauge, not 100 on what it could be measuring. What are the possibilities?

You ever seen a Spoiler on a Smart Car?????

That is the purpose of that Gauge...

As someone who has owned a Smart car, I insist that a spoiler in the front of the car would be beneficial!

In a very literal way, that gauge tells you how much your engine sucks.

It can be used for fuel efficiency by keeping the vacuum high when accelerating. I friend of mine had a an old Monty Carlo with one in it from the factory. Yeah, I know, what's the point in either car?

Gauge

So can i just rip it out and forget about it or is there a procedure so I don't screw other things up? Or should I hook it up to something ? I'm learning as I go here.

If it's a turbo model replace the gauge with a BOOST Gauge..
The Vacuum gauge only reads Vacuum, and all engines get air when they are running.Basically it is useless on a N/A car as it will just be something to look at..nice and blingy but not tell you what you NEED to know.
It will move the needle when the engine is on and remain at 0 when your car is Off ..or dead.

it can give you an idea of engine health.....so theres that minor benefit

Ya True ,Iduley,..that Gauge reading of 20 is a pretty healthy number..
