Gauge cluster dash area broke, help!

Hey everyone. I pulled the gauge cluster surround trim off, and the brown colored plastic in the dash that the cluster surround screws onto fragmented. Therre isnt a single mounting point left for the cluster surround to screw into, so the cluster surround essentially falls against the wheel, which is dangerous when trying to use the turn signals, etc.

Does anyone know of any adhesive or epoxy that would bind the cluster surround to the dash, since there isnt any place left anymore for the screws to go in? Thank you so much for the help!

Yeah, that's surely a problem. These old cars are literally crumbling into pieces. I always have trepidations when I need to dissemble an interior trim piece fearing another broken plastic piece. Time to start searching the ads for a good used dash.

I was hoping there was something I could pick up that would essentially glue or hold the gauge cluster plastic trim piece to the dash...There has to be something out there i'd think.

I used superglue/jb weld and nylon threaded spacers. Worked like a charm

acrylic cement works great. for something like that you might want to glue something over the broken area, just for support, like fiberglass

may be able to get some like 1" wide metal banding strap, and mount it somewhere else then bend it to be in the correct spot for a screw to go up into from the surround.
