im not getting the best of gas mileage and i cant figure out why.

:wallbash:

88durel 04-23-06 05:11 PM

hey, Fc gets about 17- 18 mpg in town,

16.6gal tank, mines about $65 to fill, @105.9 cnd L
so thats $4.236 a gallon...

rx7b13 04-23-06 05:13 PM

if you want gas milage then you bought the wrong car. i get around 20 to 22mpg and when i actualy run the car i get about 10.

Noel Caraballo 04-23-06 05:21 PM

rotarys arent really good when it comes to gas milage. I had to buy me a beater and put my seven away,. I ll only bust out my seven on the weekends

rotaryroket87 04-23-06 05:53 PM

yah in know what gas milage they get but mine seems like it gets 8 per gallon or something

raksj04 04-23-06 06:01 PM

i just picked my up today. and the way i did the math i got 28 mpg. but my speedo is off. at 80mph on my speedo my gps says 72.9mph. i think it is the wheels. stock 185/70R14 the ones on there 195/60R14

Noel Caraballo 04-23-06 08:46 PM

change your oxygen sensor might help little bit and plugs

GXLChris 04-23-06 08:50 PM

Heh, Im happy with my 7's mileage, then again, my last car was a blazer.....

Agent_D 04-23-06 09:46 PM

all of mine have varied greatly, my first n/a FC got 28-31mpg during normal driving conditions, and about 18-22 when hard driving (it would do a 14.1 1/4), my 2nd FC (automatic) got about 24 or so normal driving, my 3rd (current) one did about 26-28 highway, and the vert does about 20-22 on a good day.

i found gas mileage varies with which mods you have, my 14.1 car had an intake and full exhaust, my auto was stock, the GXL had full exhaust and intake, and the vert has quite a bit done.

There's about a billion threads on improving gas mileage.

That should help start you out. Just type "gas mileage" into the Search function.

16-18 city, i can eek out almost 28 if i keep it around 3500rpms or lower on the interstate (leanest cruise according to my wideband... some weird shit goings on with my A/F since i put on an 'intake', currently trying to figure out my emanage ultimate, may go with SAFC for ease).
RB road race header (w/6-port pressure tube version) custom 2" true dual to dual 2.5" catback 2x OBX-r mufflers, pineapple racing intake inserts.
now, my biggest mod, for gas mileage, is my 93 honda civic, 40mpg on the interstate, woooOOooOooo. but, about all it can pass is a gas station, sooo....

fcdrifter13 04-24-06 12:22 AM

Once you drive a swapped corsica, a 460BB ford truck, the 7 gets great gas mailage.

Goofy 04-24-06 04:30 PM

18. About 75% city.

bradenscreed 04-24-06 04:51 PM

i get about 8 mpg city, dunno why, but ill change the o2 sensor and plugs are new, thinking about ngk wires, but interstate is about 25 mpg, weird...

FOOTHILLS RX7 04-24-06 08:04 PM

I get about 25mpg average. I keep new plugs in it, with a k&N filter in the stock box, and staight through exhaust with racing beat mufflers. It is a 5 speed, vert.

grinder 04-25-06 07:47 AM

i get 15.82 MPG out of mine

put £40 in ( GBP ) about $76 and got about 150 miles to the tank

our petrol costs..

95.9 a litre so that ... £4.35 a gallon ( or about $7.75 ish )

and to fill it - LOL - i darent :D
