Full size spare in my 89 GXL???

I was looking at all the stuff in the GXL to make sure everything was there and I came across this screw that says its for a full size spare. I was wondering if I could put a full size spare in the spare tire place or where is it supposed to go. I'm alittle dumbfounded on this because I didn't think you could have a full size spare in a coupe style RX-7.

I think what that screw might be is to hold down the regular tire when you have to use the spare. Just lift up the carpeting in the rear and you will see a bolt hole. This is so you can bolt down the tire when you have to use the spare. Just a thought though....

Yeah I think oppressor666 is right, but a full size spare would be nice.

You guys keep spares.
Join AAA and chuck that heavy spare/jack....
Well, in my case it was easier to toss the spare than to quit eating donuts for breakfast

Full sized tire won't fit in the spare locations. The bolt is to keep the flat tire held to the cargo floor when the spare is being used.
