Fuel/speed chip?
Are fuel/speed chips a good idea? I'm worried that they either 1.cause excessive wear to the engine, 2.cause fuel usage to go through the roof, or 3.just don't do much.

The only chip I would put in my car would be an RTek7 chip into my ecu. (I have RTek v1.8) Check it out and read more into it... here's the site: RTek7

what I've actually been looking at are modules that fit on the intake air temperature sensor. Any ideas?
|
Rtek isnt the same as the "chip" he is talking about. The one your talking about, like the ebay ones, do nothing but mess shit up. Could go to Radioshack and pick up the parts to build one for about 2 bucks. Which would still be shit
|
What sucks for you is that RTek7 doesn't work for S4 N/A's... it WOULD be a nice addition. Ever considered TII swapping?
|
They're working on S4 N/A's. Hopefully they'll be done by the time I'm well out of school and done upgrading. :). Only ~$100 too.
But ya, other than RTek those eBay chips are garbage. |
do the rtek chips for the s5 n/a change fuel/timing or just disable the mop? i want to modify my n/a computer for a few hp seeing how i can no longer go with full exhaust anymore (strict emmissions in houston). sorry to get off topic but the rtek site didn't really say anything except it removes the electric mop
